Gedea Biotech, an innovative Swedish life science company in women’s health, today announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Paan Hermansson, Berit Lindholm, and Caroline Mofors.
“- We are very fortunate to bring strong commercial experience into the Board of Gedea. The company is now entering a commercial phase, and this requires new competencies and different experiences supporting the Board,” says Ton Berkien, Chairman of Gedea Biotech.
Gedea’s lead product, pHyph, received CE marking in August this year and is approved for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis (BV), reduction of BV symptoms, and to promote a healthy vaginal microbiome. The company plans to establish partnerships for the commercialization of pHyph, with an initial focus on the European market.
Paan Hermansson is CEO of Suturion and brings more than 20 years of experience from senior roles in international business development within commercialization of medical technology. Berit Lindholm has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including extensive expertise in introduction of new products, negotiating licensing, distribution, and supply agreements with CMOs, distributors and wholesalers. Caroline Mofors, a lawyer, has worked for over 25 years as in-house counsel and attorney in international companies, specializing in commercial agreements, corporate governance, and sustainability.
“- Gedea has made significant progress, with the CE marking of pHyph and the recent transition to commercial manufacturing,” says Annette Säfholm. “We are in parallel proceeding with the business development and commercialization readiness, and the new Board members bring valuable experience for this strategic move.”
At the extraordinary general meeting, Peter Enberg, Mats Persson, and Per Antonsson chose to step down from the Board.
